Editing
Our Misson
Editing is charged on a pay-as-you-go basis to keep it affordable!
We provide three types of editing in a comprehensive and thorough service. Editing is the backbone of our business, and is where we started out. Book quality hinges on its editing, so it’s something we take very seriously.
Our editing keeps you, the author, at the centre. You work side by side with your editor, developing a close relationship so the editor can speak for you in your manuscript, retaining your authentic voice and helping you express yourself as eloquently as you had dreamed you could.
You will be supported through the process with regular check-ins with your editor, and you will remain in control of the final wording. Your editor is there to offer expert opinions on wording and structure, but you are the publisher and you make all the decisions.
To help you prepare for editing, we offer a ‘Style Guide for Authors’, which gives you tips on our preferred conventions in grammar and punctuation. This is an abbreviated version of the in-house Style Guide we use to edit your manuscript. Download this valuable resource today to help you self-edit your manuscript with confidence and submit a professional document to your editor!

8.5¢/word
7¢/word
5.5¢/word
This makes a total of 21c per word, so if you have a 50,000 word manuscript you can expect to pay approximately $10,500 (inc GST) for structural and copy editing then proofreading. Please note that this figure is not exact, because the word count for your book will usually change during the editing process.
If this all sounds a bit overwhelming, you’re not alone; most aspiring authors find this part of the process daunting. That’s why I offer a free consultation to help you get clear on what’s involved and why editing is such an important part of your author journey.
